Picot (picot)
picot is called the same thing in US and UK patterns, and pikotto-ami in Japanese ones. Written as picot in patterns.
A short chain closed back on itself with a slip stitch, creating a small decorative bump along an edge.
The Japanese name ピコット編み (pikotto-ami) literally means "picot knitting".
