Granny Square (granny)
granny square is called the same thing in US and UK patterns, and guranii sukuea in Japanese ones. Written as granny in patterns.
A square motif worked in the round from the centre out, built from clusters of three double crochets with chain spaces at the corners.
The Japanese name グラニースクエア (guranii sukuea) literally means "granny square (loanword)".
