Back Post Double Crochet (BPdc)
In a US pattern this is called back post double crochet (BPdc). In a UK pattern the same stitch is called back post treble (BPtr). Same stitch, different name — check which country wrote your pattern before you start.
The mirror of the front post version. The hook goes around the post from the back, pushing that stitch away from you.
The Japanese name 裏引き上げ長編み (ura-hikiage-naga-ami) literally means "back pulled-up long knitting".

Watch out for
Alternating front and back post stitches gives crochet ribbing that actually stretches, which plain stitches do not.
